5 Years Hard Work Pays off

After 5 years of hard work, the team has finally brought the World Record home to Tasmania. Videos now available.

At 7am Saturday 27th March 2010 our team will attack this 24 year old record. Please come and watch but remember you'll need to be in Strahan by Friday night as it is too far to travel to Saturday morning prior to 7am.

Its almost sunrise

The boom went on the boat without a hitch last night. It is almost sunrise. Time to go skiing!

Boom trail fit completed

The boom has been fitted to Eagle as a trial and removed in time for Eagle to sail this morning. Preperations are going very well. Watch us Saturday morning.

Saturday Update
31-01-2009

It has been too windy for an afternoon attempt. All skiers are gathering from 5:30pm to be ready to go at 7pm if the weather allows. If it is still too windy the attempt will be postponed until Sunday morning.

Attempt #1

Skiers entered the water but problems with check ropes prevented the boom going into the correct position. The attempt was halted to protect the boom. There will be another attempt this afternoon at approximately 3:30pm wind permitting or this evening if necessary.

Boom assembly ahead of schedule

Assembly of the boom is progressing faster than expected. Weather conditions have been perfect at Strahan over the last 24 hours. Everything is on track for tomorrow

Time to hit the road

Final preperations are nearly complete. The skis have been loaded, ready to transport (see interesting pictures page). Just a few sleeps left!

Record Attempt Update

Final preperations are on track. We will be attempting to pull 122 skiers at Sunrise, Saturday 31st January 2009 at Tasmania's Strahan Harbour.
